Ashden Trust
Grants in this category are for the most part small, under £10,000. An exception is the Trust’s continuing support for the development of the Ashden Directory of Environment and Performance (ADEP). This innovative website aims to link and inform individuals and organisations involved in this fast-growing movement. The trustees also have a particular interest in encouraging creative projects for children, especially the very young, and for young people living in remote rural areas. These projects will sometimes, but not always, have an environmental angle. The Trust will also consider proposals for arts projects for children and adults with particularly severe mental or physical problems.

Half A Million For The Highlands (Scotland)
A new scheme has been launched to promote the cultural value of the Scottish Highlands. Financed by Highland Council, the Highland 2007 Legacy Programme will have a yearly funding pot of £500,000 to support events, festivals and activities that raise the profile of the region.  Support is available to promoters, artists, performers, youth groups, and community organisations, with £125,000 of the yearly fund earmarked especially for projects involving local schools. Funding can be provided for capital and revenue costs (a maximum of £30,000 each), although organisations will have to make separate applications if they require both.

Eligible projects must be based within the boundaries of Highland Council, provide new or enhanced cultural activity.  Applications should aim to have a real economic and social impact on the region, develop local infrastructure, involve young people, and encourage the use of Gaelic language.
